21 Sep 10 Twitter Fixes Security Glitch

San Francisco, CA, United States (AHN) – The U.S.-based internet Web site Twitter quickly fixed a security snafu revealed by a hacker that spread throughout the system Tuesday morning, according to reports.

ComputerWorld reportedly identified the problem as a cross-site scripting event that permits material from various Web sites to run and can steal information from users oblivious to the situation. Reports stated the glitch distributed pornographic material and worms throughout the system.

Twitter reported Tuesday morning it had identified and patched the XSS attack.
